APEX Capital has invested in Marquee through its Elite Performance Fund, closing the company’s pre-seed round at $2.5M.

APEX is built around a community of more than 100 entrepreneurial athletes, including Marcelo, Giorgio Chiellini, Christian Eriksen, Raphaël Varane, Lando Norris and Maro Itoje, with Red Bull Ventures as a cornerstone investor. Its network spans football clubs, federations, leagues and governing bodies, which makes it a strategic partner for Marquee beyond the capital: an investor whose backers live the game at the highest level and sit close to the decision-makers Marquee serves.

“Sports has a data problem. Not a shortage, the opposite. Clubs are drowning in it, yet effectively use only 4-15% of what’s available to them. The result? Over 50% of player transfers fail globally,” said Koen Bosma, who leads APEX’s venture arm. “Marquee is the AI-native operating system for sports recruitment. It connects every data source a club has, filters it through the club’s own DNA, and gives scouts and directors a 360° view of any player in the world, in natural language. What used to take weeks of manual analysis now takes minutes.”

Marquee is already live with professional clubs across Europe, turning weeks of manual recruitment work into minutes. The investment accelerates what comes next.
